ABSTRACT EFFECT OF STRESS ON BLOOD PRESSURE IN RW 16 OF CIHIDEUNG VILLAGE SUB-DISTRICT PARONGPONG WEST BANDUNG Rindy Lobo ID: 1451055 This research is motivated by writer’s own experience that most of the Parongpong residence are desing with stress and hypertension. The purpose of this study was to describe the effect of stress on blood pressure in RW 16 of Cihideung Village SubDistric Parongpong. The design used in this study is quantitative correlation. The sample used was 60 respondent selected using the purposive sampling method. The data was obtained using the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-10) questionnaires and digital tensimeter. The results of this study show that the stress level of respondent in RW 16 of Cihideung Village Sub-district Parongpong was in the heavy stress category with average blood pressure in the elevation blood pressure category. By using Pearson Correlation test, it’s found that there is no significant effect between stress on blood pressure in RW 16 of Cihideung Village, Parongpong Subdistrict with very low relationship (pvalue > 0.05). Suggestions can be given is that the results of this study can be use as a reference for health education related to the maintenance of psychological health and as a data to do research on the effect of using birth control pills in increasing blood pressure.
