ABSTRACT Thesis Title : ANALYSIS OF PERCEPTION OF 5 (FIVE) CHURCHES IN THE JAKARTA LOCAL CONFERENCE REGION 5 THROUGH SYSTEMATIC OFFERING PLAN PROGRAM BASED ON THE PHILOSOPHY OF 2 CORINTHIANS 9: 6-7 Researcher Name : Tommy Ferdinand Lingga Name and Title : Master of Philosophy (M.Fil) Supervisor : Dr. Alvyn Hendriks, M.Min End Date : ____April 2018 The Seventh-day Adventist Church Organization (SDA) requires contributions and financial support in order to be able to function with a maximum in driving evangelism programs and church administration. The Church has a mean of managing this by using a combined offering plan. Combined offering plan that has been applied in Southern Asia-Pacific Division (SSD) is considered as part of a systematic offering system as described in the book of Counsels on Stewardship. The method of offering that is applied in Region 5 of Jakarta Local Conference at present is the combined offering plan method. The method of combined offering plan is very important for the church administration and evangelism, which is why the researcher is very enthusiastic to see the progress and growth of combined offering plan in Region 5. Researcher also pays special attention to some problems at the moment faced by every church on combined offering plan. Churches in cooperation with organizations carry out procurement of stewardship literatures by distributing and equip God's people to stewardship reference books provided by the Union and the Conference office. The benefit of this literature is to support a deeper understanding of stewardship through tithes and in particular through combined offering plan in accordance with the truth of the Bible and Spirit of Prophecy. The problem that is found nowadays is that the application of the combined offering plan is still far from what is expected, the members of the church in Jakarta Local Conference Region 5 as the stewards of God have not entirely applied the combined offering plan, so the most frequent impact is the evangelistic and administrative activities within the church are hampered. Members of the church are still used to make offerings given off spontaneously and without planning. The number of combined offering plan units until now has not shown significant improvement as well as the nominal amount of the offering. The purpose of this research are, the theoretical objectives: To contribute to pastors and church members the principles of Bible truth in terms of the philosophy of giving offerings planned to complement the performance of the church administration. Practical Objective: Provide an understanding to each member of the church to increase the faith and spirituality of the members of the church in order to implement the planned offerings so that the mission of Seventh Day Adventist Church in preaching the gospel of the three angels messages of the world can be achieved. Academic Objectives: To fulfill the academic requirement through scientific work to achieve a degree of Master of Philosophy (M.Phil) at the Adventist University of Indonesia (UNAI), Bandung. As the basic theory in this thesis, the author will discuss the things that need to be understood by what is known to be associated with the identification of problems in Chapter I. In this section the author will discuss about: Theoretical Basis, 2 Corinthians Background, The Writer of 2 Corinthians, Year of Writing of Corinthians, Purpose of the Letter 2 Corinthians. Next Exposition to the 2 Corinthians 9:6-7 divided into two sub-sections, The Principles of Giving By Faith, Principles of Giving With Joy, Principles Providing Offering in the Old Testament, Presentation Perception at GMAHK, Offering Plan, Combined Offering Plan, Second Tithes, Offering Plan and Evangelism, Offering Plan and Stewardship, Offering and Church Administration, Church Offering and Finances, Framework for Thought and Submission of Hypotheses. This research uses correlation research method to provide information about the study . The goal is to test the hypothesis that the effect of independent variables on the dependent variable. The independent variables are the Perceptions of the Members of the Church of in Giving Offering Based on the 2 Corinthians 9: 6-7 Philosophy called the X1 Variables, and the Planned Performed Program Perception called the X2 variable, and the dependent variable is Growing Growth in the Region 5 of Jakarta Local Conference called variable Y. The population that is studied in this research is the church members of region of 5 Jakarta Local Conference which consist of 11 (eleven) Churches, 5 of them: Pondok Ungu Church consists of 22 respondents, Malaka Jaya Church consists of 47 respondents, Jati Wangi Church consists of 43 respondents, Klender Church consists of 47 respondents, Harapan Baru Regency Church consists of 45 respondents with the total number of 410 respondents with the provisions of 110 questionnaires distributed to 50 respondents for validity test and 204 respondents for the object of research. The number of respondents who have filled out questionnaires from the number of 20-20 items are about 204 people. Profile of respondents is gender, education, occupation, position in Church, and status. Analysis is needed to determine whether the data analysis for testing can proceed or not. Some data analysis techniques require test requirements analysis. Variant analysis requires that data come from normally distributed populations and groups that are homogeneous. Therefore, variant analysis requires validity, reliability, normality, linearity, hypothesis and descriptive statistics. The conclusion of this research based on the research that has been done, is first, as a steward member of the church believes that when giving abundant offerings, then God will bless with abundant again, the members of the church believe that a steward of God will make offerings with willingness of heart. This is what gives the relationship of faith and joy according to 2 Corinthians 9: 6-7 to stewardship in the church of Region 5 of the Constituent Area GMAHK. Second, the Adventist Church grows strongly to the present day by being supported by systematic offerings and systematic (planned) which is prepared at home, praying for it privately, regularly, and consistently. It affects the planned offering program on the growth of giving in church of Region 5 in Jakarta Local Conferences. Third, the organization of Seventh Day Adventist Church administrators can administer the offerings to support evangelism and if all members apply the Combined Offering Plan, then church evangelism will proceed smoothly and maximally, financial constraints in the church are no more, so there is the effect of giving a planned or unified offering to the evangelical administration in the church of Region 5 Jakarta Local Conference. Suggestion of this research is necessary to give regular understanding to every member of church to increase faith and spirituality of member of church in order to apply the planned offerings so that mission of the Seventh Day Adventist Chruch in preaching of gospel that is message of three angels to all over the world can be achieved, because there are still some members who do not understand of the systematic offerings suggested by Ellen White in which the system is the same as the combined offering plan drafted by the Seventh Day Adventist Church organization from 1970-2003. It is advisable for pastors and churches to read and apply literary books, especially Ellen G. White's stewardship counseling manual on the biblical principles of truth in philosophy to offer planned offerings to complement the performance of church administration. The implication of this research is generally the purpose of the offering is to be used administratively by the Seventh Day Adventist church in accordance with the guidance of the Spirit and the wisdom that is planted by God. The combined offering plan has the same pattern as the systematic offerings that are prepared proportionally from the house. The right motivation in bringing the gifts to the Lord is based on the faith, love and joy and eagerness that are contained in 2 Corinthians 9: 6-7. The members of The Seventh Day Adventist church in Jakarta Local Conference Region 5 are expected to implement the program of planned or integrated offerings recommended by the organization that can influence the growth of giving.
