ABSTRACT ANALYSIS OF FINANCIAL STATEMENT AND ALTMAN Z-SCORE TO PREDICT BANCRUPTCY OF THE COMPANIES (COMPARATIVE STUDY) TEXTILE INDUSTRY, COAL, AND HEAVY EQUIPMENT 2015 By: Fritz Bobby Barus The Financial Statement are one source of information that can be used to determine the company’s financial position, performance and assist in making the right decision. This research aims to determine the use of financial ratios, and Altman Z-score in predicting corporate bankruptcies (comparative study) using the data in form of financial statements (balance sheet and income statement) of the companies. Results of the samples examined showed 60% of the companies are in bankruptcy, while the remaining 40% are in the grey area.
