ABSTRACT CLASSICAL MUSIC THERAPY TOWARD MEMORY INCREASING ON NURSING STUDENT ADVENTIST UNIVERSITY OF INDONESIA Iyan Permana NIM: 1351040 This study is motivated by the urge of researcher to improve memory skills of students using classical music therapy. The purpose of this study is to analyze the average score of a significant differences sub test digit span memory before and after classical music therapy on the first grade nursing students of Adventist Indonesia University. The method was pre experimental which one group pre test, post-test design. The subject were 18 nursing students of first grade bachelor and diploma degree Adventist Indonesia University who has choosen by purposive sampling. Canon in D Mayor song is used for music therapy approximately 30 minutes for 5 days. The instrument were ear phone, computer, digit span digit forward and backward, wathces, writing tools and observation sheets. The result of the average digit span before classical music therapy was on enough category and affter classical music therapy was on the high category. There was significant difference towards enhancement memory before and after classical music therapy on first grade nursing students at Adventist Indonesia University. This study is expected to be input for the lecturer of Adventist Indonesia University, to use and apply the classical music therapy aas an effort to enhancement student memory.
