ABSTRACT FACTORS THAT INFLUENCE THE HYPERTENSION INCIDENCE IN THE WORKING AREA OF PUSKESMAS PARONGPONG KABUPATEN BANDUNG BARAT HERLINA FEBRINE SINAGA NIM:1551026 This research was motivated by the high rate of cases of hypertension occurrence in Indonesia, especially in the working area of Puskesmas (Health Center) Parongpong. Therefore the purpose of this research was to determine the distribution of factors that influence the incidence of hypertension, determine the factors that are less dominant, and determine the factors that were the most dominant influence the incidence in the working area of Puskesmas Parongpong. The research design used was survey method. The sample of this research used purposive sampling technique. The sample used in this research was 40 patients with hypertension in Cihanjuang Village. The results of the distribution of factors affecting hypertension are age, sex, partner status, last education, occupation, personal income, history of hypertension, body mass index, and blood pressure. The results of data analysis showed that the less dominant factors causing hypertension are factors of smoking was 5%, because the number of respondents in this study was 36% women and 4% men, and the results of data analysis showed that the most dominant factor causes of hypertension in the sample research was salt consumption factor with the percentage of 97.5%. Several suggestions were addressed to Puskesmas Parongpong to follow up this issue by giving a counseling to people suffering from hypertension about the factors that influencing hypertension and how to control it. Further, nursing field is expected to provide health services and counseling to residents about hypertension disease and for future research field, it is expected to be able to see the relationship between the distributions with the factors that influence the incidence of hypertension.
