ABSTRACT OBSERVATION OF ORAL HYGIENE IMPLEMENTATION IN PATIENTS ARE NOT SIGNIFICANT BY NURSING STUDENTS II FALKULTAS NURSING SCIENCE IN HOUSE ADVENT SORTS BANDUNG Elfi Melva Taebenu Nim: 1451050 The writing of this thesis is motivated by the author's own experience during the practice at Advent Bandung Hospital and the lack of oral hygiene implementation in stroke patients treated in the hospital which has an impact on the lack of family satisfaction of the patient on the nursing service in giving oral hygiene procedure causing bad breath in the patient. The purpose of this study was to obtain an overview of the implementation of oral hygiene procedures by nursing students when performing clinical nursing practice. The method used in this research is descriptive method, population in this research is 21 student. The instrument used in the form of an observation sheet consisting of 16 steps on the implementation of oral hygiene procedures adapted from the KDMPP UNAI book. The results showed that students of nursing faculty level II sec B academic year 2017/2018 perform oral hygiene procedure with category 58.93% with enough value. The most common items performed in an unconscious patient are the number "1 Explain the procedure to be performed on the patient or family, and point 6 where it is crooked on the side of the cheek to the chin". Less-implemented items for the unconscious patient are the 10 "number. Perform suction of the fluid from the patient's mouth. Advice for nursing students is to always perform oral hygiene procedures in unconscious patients. Keywords: Observation, Implementation, Oral Hygiene
