ABSTRACT THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN LIFESTYLE AND HYPERTENSION AT RW 11 VILLAGE OF CIHIDEUNG SUBDISTRICT OF PARONGPONG DISTRICT OF WEST BANDUNG Novia Kristina Sidabutar NIM : 1451013 Unhealthy lifestyles can cause various diseases, one of which is hypertension. Some things that cause the occurrence of hypertension, including eating unhealthy foods, lack of physical activity and not exercising regularly and the habit of smoking. This study was conducted to determine the description of lifestyle relationships namely nutrition, rest, exercise and smoking with hypertension in RW 11 Village Cihideung Parongpong, West Bandung regency. The research method used is descriptive correlation. The population is all residents of RW 11 who have hypertension. Samples consist of 36 people aged 19 years and over and have blood pressure of 140/90 and above. The sample was chosen by purposive sampling technique. Subjects were then given a lifestyle questionnaire to find out a lifestyle picture that affects blood pressure. The collected data is calculated using percentage formula followed by pearson product moment. The results showed that the lifestyle description of respondents with hypertension as a whole is less lifestyle. The lifestyle of respondents who are at risk for hypertension is the habit of resting less. While the value of the correlation coefficient of nutrients, Rest, sports and smoking states that there is a very low relationship but not significant between lifestyle with hypertension. Suggestions for further research know whether there is a relationship between age, sex, stress and the influence of contraceptive pills on blood pressure. Keywords: Lifestyle, Hypertension
