ABSTRACT RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN INTENSITY OF USE GADGET WITH SOCIAL INTERACTION IN NURSE COLLEGE STUDENT AT UNAI JoiceTabita 1551047 The use of gadgets among UNAI students has a positive impact on social interaction among students, while some lecturers at UNAI argue that the use of gadgets among students has a negative impact on the interaction between lecturers and students. The purpose of this study was to see an overview of the intensity of the use of gadgets, an the overview of social interactions among UNAI students and the relationship between the use of gadgets and student social interactions. The design of this study was descriptive associative. The sample of this study was UNAI's nursing major students with 75 people taken by the quota sampling method. This study used two questionnaires, named gadget intensity and social interaction questionnaire. The results of this study indicate that the intensity of using gadgets among UNAI's nursing major students is classified in the medium category. Social interaction among students is included (classified) in the sufficient category. The results of data analysis from this study indicate the value of the correlation coefficient (r) of -0.204 with significance (p) = 0.079 (> 0.05). This shows that there is no significant relationship between the intensity of the use of gadgets and social interactions. 4.16% of the factors that influence social interaction while 98.84% are influenced by other things, and vice versa. Suggestion for further research is to examine more related factors in terms of influencing social interactions in addition to the use of gadgets and so that they can be explored more deeply in the use of gadgets that influence social interaction among students.
