M: MELENA WITH DEEP BREATHING EXERCISE INTERVENTION TO OVERCOME PAIN IN UNIT WEST WING IV RUMAH SAKIT ADVENT BANDUNG Arranged by: Maulana Rizal Hasanuddin Warganegara NIM: 1652034 Melena or blood defecation is a condition caused by upper gastrointestinal bleeding (UGIB). The overall mortality rate of UGIB bleeding has remained stable in the last few decades, which ranges from 6-14%. prolonged pain can cause other problems, such as: feeling sensitive or irritable, increased blood pressure, cold sweating and heart palpitations. If not addressed immediately, the impact will be even more severe, such as severe disability The purpose of this nursing care is to find out the description of the provision of deep breathing therapy to treat pain in melena patients in the West Wing IV unit Bandung Advent Hospital. The writing method used in this scientific work is a descriptive method to obtain subjective data, make observations for three days of care, conduct scientific studies in theory and provide intervention in accordance with EBP (Evidence Based Practice) and retrieve basic data and history of client disease through medic records with the main nursing diagnosis is pain in the West Wing IV Unit of the Advent Hospital in Bandung. Nursing diagnoses that appear with a medical diagnosis of melena are acute pain b.d biological injury agents (burning sensation in the gastric mucosa), the volume of fluid is less than the body's needs b.d bleeding in the stomach and nutritional imbalance: less than the body requirements b.d anorexia. The conclusions that can be drawn after implementing nursing care for patients with melena are found that there is not too much difference between theory and practice in the field. Suggestions for nurses to be able to provide nursing care by applying Evidence Based Practice (EBP) and for patients should make suggestions that have been given by nurses to treat and prevent recurrent diseases.
