ABSTRACT NURSING CARE PLAN FOR Mrs. N WITH GASTROINTESTINAL DISORDER: ACUTE GASTROENTERITIS IN INDONESIA ADVENTIST UNIVERSITY’s CLINIC RILDA VIDIANA TAEBENU ID: 1152060 The writing of this scientific papers is motivated by the high number of patients with acute gastroenteritis at Bandung Adventist University’s Clinic which is about 975 people. Acute gastroenteritis or diarrhea is still a health problem that occurs in developing countries. The purpose of this writing was to gain the real experience in providing comprehensive nursing care for Mrs. N with acute gastroenteritis problem. The method used are interview, observation, documentation, and literature study. Acute Gastroenteritis is an inflammation of the stomach and digestive tract caused by various bacteria and viruses. Treatment given is to maintain the food hygiene. After performing the nursing process directly to the client, the author found some problems during carrying out maintenance to Mrs. N which are: Impaired of bowel elimination pattern: diarrhea, impaired sense of comfort: pain, lack of nutrients in fulfilling the needs of the body, and the lack of knowledge about the illness. Intensive care is needed to overcome the problems that arise on the client. Discrepancy identified are not all signs and symptoms appear on the client, and there are some diagnostic test that not conducted as laboratory tests. It is really important for the family to be able to prevent acute gastroenteritis problem by maintaining and pay more attention about cleanliness. That is why the authors suggest for all the nurses to improve nursing care given to the patient in health promotion and inform the patient about the health based on the theories that we've learned and we should be more nice to the clients.
