ABSTRACT THE EFFECT OF WATER STEW VINCA CATHARANTHUS ROSEUS L. G . DON TO BLOOD SUGAR IN WHITE MALE GALUR WISTAR RATS THAT IS INDUCED ALLOXAN Agile Elia NIM: 1251011 Blood sugar or glucose blood sugar refer to which distributed through the blood stream to provide energy for all the cells in our body. Hyperglycemia is a condition where blood sugar concentration excessive or above normal that will eventually become the disease called diabetes mellitus. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of the extract of vinca (catharantus roseus) against antihyperglycemia in white male galur wistar rats strain induced by alloxan. The research method is using a laboratory experiment, with Posttest - Only Control Design. The sample uses 10 male rats, divided into two groups: the experimental group and the control group.The experimental group was treated with 3.66 cc of vinca's extract and the control group with water. The giving of vinca extract and water was performed 2 days after induced alloxan.On the third day blood sugar measured use easy touch, and inspection was done within in a period 120 menit. Data was then calculated using the mean data and to analyze the effect of vinca's (catharantus roseus) extract independent t-test analysis was used. The result shown the average volume of the experimental group 120 is 74,2 mg/dl and the control group is 132.4 mg/dl. The results of the statistical said that value t-independent was 1,124. It meant Ho is accepted and Ha is rejected at the significant level of 95% or α = 0.005. It is concluded that there was no significant difference between the blood sugar levels of rats the experimental group and the control group. Key words: Alloxan, Hyperglycemia, Vinca
