ABSTRACT EFFECT OF LAVENDER ESSENTIAL OIL AROMATHERAPY (Lavandula angustifolia) ON BLOOD PRESSURE IN HYPERTENSION PATIENTS IN CEMPAKA VILLAGE AREA RW 04, ANDIR DISTRICT, BANDUNG Mahardicka Augustyan Dwi Soedarmo NIM: 1251029 Cempaka Village area RW 04, Andir District, Bandung, there are many patients with hypertension and no use of lavender essential oil aromatherapy as one way to lower blood pressure. This study was conducted to determine the effect of lavender essential oil aromatherapy (Lavandula angustifolia) on blood pressure in patients with hypertension grade one in Cempaka Village area RW 04, Andir District, Bandung. The research method was a quasi-experimental study with a one group pretest-posttest design. Subjects in this study, 30 adult patients with hypertension grade one that is given three drops of lavender essential oil aromatherapy on a tissue and inhaled for 10 minutes. Blood pressure of the patients before the given intervention is 146.17 / 94.96 mmHg including hypertension grade one and blood pressure after the intervention decreased to 131.13 / 85.26 mmHg including prehypertension. Paired t-test is used to determine the effect of lavender essential oil aromatherapy on blood pressure. Paired t-test results indicate that there is significant influence of granting lavender essential oil aromatherapy on blood pressure of grade one hypertension patients in Cempaka Village RW 04 , Andir District , Bandung (t (13.09)> t table (2.04) ; α = 0.05). People with hypertension can utilize aromatherapy lavender essential oil as one way to lower blood pressure. Results of the study can be a reference for future studies that make use of lavender essential oil aromatherapy to overcome tension and depression in patients with hypertension level two.
