ABSTRACT The background of this essay writing is from the scientific journal that which stated that vitamin B6 has anti-emetic effect to pregnant mother. The aim of this research is to see the usefulness of consuming potatoes which contains vitamin B6 on nausea due to pregnancy. The method that has been used on this research was pre experiment method with one group pretest – posttest design. The sample that has been used on this research was then pregnant mothers of first trimester who experienced hyperemesis gravidarum and did not take any anti emetic medicines in Kecamatan Parongpong. The samples were selected by purposively sampling. The chosen respondents were ensure to have nausea. The potatoes about 550- 600 grams were steamed for 40 minutes. The steamed potatoes were given directly to the respondent twice, 6 am and 2 pm for three days. The result showed changes in the respondents’ condition. Before the potatoes were being given, the percentage of queasy respondents was 100%. On the first day after consuming the steamed potatoes the percentage of queasy respondent was still 100%. On the second day the percentage decreased to 60%. And on the third day the percentage decreased to 20%. This research is expected to enhance the knowledge of the pregnant mother about the natural resource of vitamin B6 to reduce the nausea and vomit during pregnancy and be useful as knowledge contribution in nursing scope especially pregnant mother with nausea and vomit.
