ABSTRACT Thesis Title : ANALYSIS OF THE FAITH GROWTH OF THE MEMBERS OF ADVENTIST CHURCHES IN DKI CONFERENCE, XIX LEGION TOWARDS THE INVOLVEMENT OF PASTORS’ OF GENESIS 2:18 Researcher : Pardamean Silaen Degree : Megister Filsafat (M.Fil) Adviser : DR. B.D. Nainggolan, M.P.S Date of Submission : 16 April 2018 Chapter 1 explicates researcher problem which derived from the background of the study, problem identification, scope and delimitation, statement of the problem, purpose of the study, definition of key terms, and significance of the study. Meanwhile, Chapter 2 explains about the Book of Genesis wherein the fundamental theory is to relate role of pastor’s wife in partnering with her husband to serve. In chapter 3, the researcher discusses the statement of the problem which elaborate the answer of the research questions in chapter 4. Chapter 4 explains the results and findings as follows: Pastor’s wife holds important role in determining the progress of her husband’s work the congregation. Pastor’s wife, in the spiritual life of congregation, has strong and profound effect. According to the congregation, pastor’s wife is a special woman who is able to become adviser and role model. The role of pastor’s wife determines whether the pastor make progress in his service or not. Pastor’s wife is able to become helpers and at the same time blessing for her husband or she can become hindrance to her husband’s service. In some parts, the service of a pastor depends on his wife, therefore, his wife holds important role whether her husband can make progress from time to time or whether his progress is degrading. The best and wonderful sermon is a sermon that is all about pastor’s life experience. There are a lot of schools for pastors in the corner of this world. However there is no school that is established to educate a woman to become pastor’s wife. In accordance to the writer’s thought, if there is a woman who is willing to become pastor’s wife then she is a special woman to God. In this era, the equality of life of men and women is one thing that should be considered and have no difference. Not only men who can achieve success in their careers but women also have the right and equal opportunity to obtain successful careers. This principle should be impeded because the humanitarian law protects it. Therefore it is very common to see pastor’s wife having a career according to her ambition. With the opportunity for pastor’s wife to work and achieve her career, many pastor wives work according to her respective field of education. In choosing her career, the job of pastor’s wife is not align with the mission; she ends up having busy activity which takes a lot of time for her career, neglecting her mission as pastor’s wife. It is not infrequent that the burden a pastor encounters becomes far from the burden of their responsibility as a pastor. Pastor’s wife often considers that it is enough for her husband to be a pastor with all the responsibility that he has to carry out, since she is tired of being unable to engage in the mission service. The techniques of Data collection that are valid for their use in the study are direct observation, literature search, questionnaire use and interview. To obtain good data, planned with good data collection as well. Methods of data collection are four, namely: 1) Interview method, 2) administration, 3) instrument, 4) observation, 5) and examination of documents or objects. Statistical analysis using anova. The analysis is required to determine whether the a analysis of data for techniques can be continued or not. several data analysis techniques demanding test requirements analyss. Analysis of variance requires that data come from a normal distributed populations and groups that are homogeneous. Therefore variance analysis requires validity, reliability, normality, hypothetical linearity and descriptive statistics. The number of respondents who had filled out questionnaires from no 1 - 23 no items were as many as 130 people. The conclusions of this research are: First, Based on the result of linearity test, it is concluded that there is a growing faith of members of Jakarta Convention Adventist Church of XIX Region for the total involvement of the pastor's wife in carrying out the task of joint herd with the husband is 60,9%. Second, there is an excellent and mutually satisfying growth of faith between the pastor's wife and members of the XIX Adventist Church for the total involvement of the pastor's wife in carrying out pastoral work according to the philosophy of Genesis 2:18. Thirdly, since the pastor's wife participates in the task of assisting her husband in the pastoral task to the members of the congregation in her duty as the shepherdess, there is a strong relationship of faith growth in the XIX region. Fourthly, there is a very strong growth of faith in the congregation of the DKI Conference because the Pastor's wife can position herself as a very spiritual role model like her husband. Fifthly, there is very little growth in the faith of the members of the XIX region because of pastor’s wife is busy in her career so she cannot provide counseling services to members in need. Sixthly, there is very little growth of faith members of the Regional Adventist Church XX, DKI Conference because the pastor's wife cannot be present in all the grief events of her bereaved congregation. Seventhly, there is very little faith growth of members of the church of the Regional Adventist Church XIX, DKI conference because of their pastor’s wife is more achievers in her career than in her mission field.
