ABSTRACT EXTENSION OF TYPHOID DISEASE AND CHANGES IN THE ATTITUDE OF SECONDARY STUDENTS AT BANDUNG SETIABUDHI ADVENTIST ACADEMY By: Brenda Jessica Riwu Student No: 1251006 Typhoid fever is health problem that place the first sequence among twenty one admitted patients in the hospitals in West Java. Typhoid is a systemic disease that caused by salmonella typhus bacteria. Children and teenagers of five to nineteen are the most typhoid patients compared to adults. Bandung Setiabudhi Adventist Academy is a school that hasn’t been yet apply clean living behavior in school, the results of the interviews have been conducted with some of the teachers at the school stating that college students in Bandung Setiabudhi Adventist Academy are quite often hit by the disease typhoid fever. The aim of this research is to see the knowledge of the secondary students before and after they were given information about typhoid at Bandung Setiabudi Adventist Academy. The method used in this research is pre-experimental method with the retreatment design. Analyzed using Mean and Kolmogorov Smirnoff formula. The number of respondents are 89 students; they are student who are present when the information is given. The instrument used in the research is multiple choice, leaflets and the material about typhoid disease. The result shows that the attitude of the secondary students before and after given the information is quite good enough. Even there is no significant difference of the attitude of secondary students before and after giving information, there is still some raising knowledge about the disease. My suggestion for the headmaster is the results of this research are expected to be useful as reference material, Bandung Setiabudhi Adventist Academy could repeat the health promotion about the disease and do the health promotion continually.
