ABSTRACT Thesis writing is motivated by the author's observation on the use of nonpharmacological therapy is music therapy in the treatment of anxiety that are not in RSAB. The purpose of this study is to describe the benefits of music therapy on anxiety treatment intraoperative patient with local anesthesia. The method used is the method of two group pre-test and post-test design in the control group and the treatment group. The sample used in this study were 20 intraoperative patient to be performed minor surgery under local anesthesia. The instrument used was the Hamilton Rating Scale for Anxiety (HRS-A). The results showed that the level of anxiety patients Intraoperative at the level of severe anxiety, the anxiety level of patients intraoperative local anesthetic treatment groups with the given music therapy in RSAB declined to levels not worry and there is a significant difference to the level of anxiety of patients intraoperative with a local anesthetic between therapy group and control group in RSAB. Suggestions from this study are that patients bring a music player devices that will be used to play music therapy, nursing field presents music players to be used to play music and become routine therapy in the treatment of patients with local surgery and anesthesia in surgical care unit. The operating room as an input to the operating room staff in order to implement the provision of music therapy in patients with local anesthesia. The areas of research as a baseline for continuing research of music therapy in dealing with patient anxiety in sectio caesarea surgery with spinal anesthesia.
