ABSTRACT Thesis Title : ANALYSIS THE UNDERSTANDING OF GIVING INTEGRATED OFFERINGS FOR SPIRITUAL GROWTH IN SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH OF MAKASSAR DISTRICT 2 BASED ON ACTS 20:35B. Researcher Name : Nixon Freddy Lumoindong Name and Title : M.Fil Supervisor : Dr. B.D. Nainggolan, MPS End Date : 4 MEI 2017 The life of the Seventh-day Adventist Church people, in general, knows the doctrine of the Bible as a guide in everyday life. But the doctrine is only known and memorized alone and not implemented in everyday life, even just a theory only. Resulting in the spirituality of God's people tends to be constant even declining. It includes the way God's people appreciate God's blessings by returning their tithes and giving offerings as a sign of love to God and an expression of gratitude to God as the source of all blessings, all for the glory of God. "Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the first result of all your income, the granary -your hill will be filled to the brim of abundance and your milking vessel will overflow with wine. The spiritual state of the people of God greatly determines the way in which the practice of the people in the various commandments of the Lord is included in offering more special offerings of planned offerings. The people of God must live all the teachings of the Bible with nothing except, as in James 2:10, which says, "Whosoever shall keep the whole law but ignores a part of it, he is guilty of all." God or tithes and offerings of systematic or integrated offerings as a sign of thanksgiving to God who is the source of blessing. With this, members of the congregation are encouraged to be better, organized and planned in giving offerings and returning the tithe. The number of congregations in the city of Makassar is 11 congregations and is divided into 3 regions. Data from the overall finances at the South and West South Sulawesi conference show a very striking comparison between the integrated offerings and the tithe, not least is the area of two Makassar cities. The following researchers will give examples of financial data that exist in the region 2 Makassar plus one congregation in the area of 1 Makassar Tanjung Cape flowers as a comparison. It will happen to someone who has experienced a close relationship with Christ, so that it will continue to be sustainable. Spirit of Godliness is the result of the life of Christ within us. Why do the congregations grow in spirituality? One indication is to provide offerings in a planned and systematic. The purpose of this study is firstly to understand the correct concept of giving an integrated offering based on Acts 20: 35b that can promote spiritual growth and spirit in the spiritual activities of the congregation. Second, apply an integrated offering to promote spiritual growth and encouragement in the spiritual activities of the congregation. Third, it is hoped that the results of this study will provide input and motivation to pastors, church assemblies, and all members of the congregation that giving an integrated offering is very influential and has a positive impact on spiritual growth and spirit in the spiritual activities of the congregation. Fourth, this research is also one of the efforts so that each member better understand and apply that giving an integrated offering must be a lifestyle for the spiritual life of the Church of Seventh Day Adventist Makassar. Fifth, to complete the demands of the post-graduate program to obtain the title M. Fil. It is not up to the inner feelings and impulses. God has given us a firm hint of giving. Considering the spiritual condition of God's people in the way of giving still many who do not yet understand well the true concept of stewardship and influence gives the offering in a systematic and consistent way, so that it affects the spiritual growth of God's people in the region of Makassar. Based on the foundations of the theories presented above and through the effect of offering an integrated offering and correctly understanding the concept of stewardship for the spiritual growth of church members in the Seventh-day Adventist Church of Makassar's 2nd region. As proof of the growth of faith and the fruit of the love of Christ that has saved man and the manifestation of faithfulness, integrity and expression of his faith in God especially in giving. Similarly, the gift of heaven through Jesus Christ, the researchers have the optimism that this research will be useful. The study was conducted at the Seventh-day Adventist Church of Makassar 2, which consists of five congregations: Bodmin Bodang congregation, Sunu congregation, Saddang River congregation, Hertasning congregation, and Sungi Jordan congregation, within the framework of the South and West South Sulawesi Conference. Sampling technique by means of random cluster sampling, ie sampling by selecting members of the congregation proportionally in the area of 2 Makassar. The guidelines for sampling is based on the general guidance quoted by Prof. Eliezer Sasmoko from the Krecie Morgan theory, is: "If the population is above 100 respondents, then it should take a sample of at least 20% of the population". The development of the variables understanding instrument of members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church of Makassar 2 to the effect of offering an integrated offering that can enhance spiritual growth is made by presenting the conceptual and operational definition of the variable, the authors propose conceptual and operational definitions and instrument grids.
