ABSTRACT Thesis Title : ANALYSIS OF UNDERSTANDING OF MEMBERS OF THE REGION V CONFERENCE SEVENTHDAY ADVENTISTS CHURCH AND SURROUNDING JAKARTA BAPTISM OF ADDED IN CHURCH INCOMPARABLE WITH THE NUMBER MEMBERS ARE COMING UNDER WORSHIP ACTS 2:41-47 Researcher Name: Johnson Simorangkir Name and Title : M.Fil Supervisor : DR. B.D. Nainggolan, MPS End Date : May, 8th 2017 In the Book of Acts is a book written by Luke, a "beloved physician" of a converted Gentile, to all churches to both Jews and Gentiles. This book explains how the early church grew rapidly, both in quantity and quality. The growth of the early church marked on Pentecost was inseparable from the role of the Holy Spirit, it was God's initiative in the church to bring about intentions and plans of God. The point is that the Holy Spirit works the growth in and out. The work of the Holy Spirit seen in a healthy church certainly leads to a natural, balanced growth, both Furthermore Christian Schwarz said, "The Church has the potential to grow with her, and this potential is a gift from God. The growth of quantity and quality in question is the addition of members (babptisan) congregation in the involvement (active) members of the congregation in the church activities. The addition of members of the church in general consists of 3 (three) factors: First, the growth as a biological result, namely the increase in the number of members of the marriage of responsible church members. Secondly, the increase of church movements, namely: the increase in the number of church members moving from other churches, due to population movements, or due to other factors. Third, the increase of the proclamation of the gospel, namely the increase in the number of new souls repentance. To extend God's work in this world through evangelism today God is still using His congregation to declare His mission to this world. To sinners who are willing to repent, hunger and thirst for righteousness, God gives the Holy Spirit to proclaim the Lamb of God that will carry the sin of the world's content. The Great Commission given by Christ before the ascension (Matthew 28: 19-20) is faithfully practiced by His disciples. As a result a new church or church was born in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and also in various parts of the world. The purpose of the writing and research is to answer the hypothesis proposed correctly and can be accounted for, so the purpose of this thesis is as follows: First, Providing understanding to pastors and members of the congregation in the welfare of the Seventh-day Adventist Church of the V-Districts of DKI Jakarta and its environs to the increase of baptism in the congregation is not proportional to the presence of members in the worship service. Second, Provide a comprehensive understanding. The benefits of this research are a barometer of the increase of baptism in the congregation, especially among the priests in Region 5 in general in order to gain a true understanding. The authors strongly hope that this research can provide benefits and contributions to many parties, especially to leaders in congregations and leaders in GMAHK organizations that employ pastors, as well as members of the congregation who are served by pastors of the congregation. Of course the benefits of this study have two benefits, namely theoretical benefits and practical benefits. The research method that writer use in this research there are 2 (two) that is: first data of Library and second, Field Data. Field data is made through descriptive method, according to Nasir, descriptive method is a method in human group research, an object, or system of thought, a current event whose purpose is to get a cystamatic, factual and accurate picture of the facts or phenomena under investigation. The first data collection technique, distributing questionnaires. Questionnaires were distributed to members of the congregation in the V-Conference of DKI Jakarta and its environs. And secondly, make a literature review to get ideas and information on the input of books and other literature from several libraries of Advent Bandung Univer- sity and the Theological High School of Jakarta. And also through interviews to members of the congregation in the V area of DKI Jakarta Conferences and skitarnya. Statistical analysis uses Anova. The analysis is used to find out whether the data analysis for test data is continued or not. Some data analysis techniques require test requirements analysis. Variant analysis suggests that the data come from normally distributed populations and groups that compare homogeny. Therefore, variant analysis requires validity, reliability, normality, linearity, hypothesis and descriptive statistic data. The number of respondents who have completed questionnaires from no. 1- 24 of 200 samples or persons. Conclusion On Analysis of the Understanding of Members of the Church The Seventh-day Adventist Area V The Conference of DKI Jakarta About Surrounding Baptism In The Church Is Not Comparable To The Number Of Members Present At The Worship Based on Acts 2: 41-47, 1. The impact of the number of attendance of members in worship is influenced by the presence of togetherness and the presence of members is not just listening to the sermon of 33%. 2. The increase of baptism in the congregation is not proportional to the number of members present in the worship service, as members of the congregation have not maximized the role of their ministry in the church, merely fulfilling the church's work program of 34%. 3. In solving the problem of members who are not present in the worship service maintenance and maintenance is needed not only done by Pdt alone but each member must be involved, ie 69.1%. Implications. After conducting both theoretical and data analysis in relation to the understanding of members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church of the V-Districts of DKI Jakarta and its environs on the increase of baptism in the congregation is not proportional to the number of members present at worship based on Acts 2: 41-47, 1. Need to learn and know the ways and steps to make a growing church certainly not just the number of baptisms that increase, but the quality of attendance of members in every worship service must be in line. 2. Employing pastors within the Seventh-day Adventist Church (GMAHK) church organization, so that through briefings given such as seminars, regular training, personal motivation to ministers to be able to perform their ministry as pastors in pastoring the congregation to Increasing the number and quality of attendance of members at every worship service within the church. Suggestion. After the conclusion and the implication, then at the end of this research, some suggestions to be implemented with the understanding of the members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church of the V Area of the DKI Jakarta and the surrounding Conference on the increase of baptism in the congregation are not proportional to the number of members present at the worship service based on the Acts of the Apostles 2: 41-47. Firstly, it is necessary to hold a seminar and debriefing to the pastor of the congregation and all members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church of the VDistricts of DKI Jakarta and its surroundings on the increase of baptism in the congregation is not proportional to the number of members present at the worship service based on Acts 2: 41-47, So the presence of members in the worship service is increasing. Second, the Church must have a biblical, specific, measurable, communicable, and concrete vision and mission that can be concretized and repeatedly stated. The vision of the church is stated in the mission to reach out to the people in the neighborhood. Thirdly, caring must be the prime and life-style of biblical followers, because caring is evidence that we love God and love our fellow human beings in the Old Testament till the New Testament, even to the second coming of the Lord.
