ABSTRAC Research was conducted in this baby thesis, the research is comparative study, with samples of this research is taken from two classes/groups from XI SMAN 1 Parongpong, West Bandung. In group 1 the treatment given by CUPs assisted by Maple and group 2 by LT assisted by Maple. The purpose of this research was to look at difference of increasing conceptual understanding ability in mathematics for SMA’s students (senior high school students) from two different treatment, that is CUPs and LT toward one ability that refer as above where both assisted by Maple. The instruments used are question of the ability of conceptual understanding in essay type. Data analysis with two different test average and/or Mann-Whitney statistical with level of significance at α = 0.05 obtained that CUPs assisted by Maple to improved conceptual understanding better than LT assisted by Maple.
