ABSTRACT KNOWLEDGE RELATIONSHIP WITH NERSE COMPLIANCE IN IDENTIFYING PATIENTS BEFORE GIVING ACTION IN CRITICAL CARE ROOM AT BANDUNG ADVENTIST HOSPITAL GERVASIUS NONG SENSI NIM: 1651081 Failure to correctly identify patients can lead to errors of both medical and nursing actions. This study aims to determine the nurse's knowledge of the patient identification process and the nurse's compliance in identifying the patient before providing the action as well as the knowledge relationship with the nurse's compliance in identifying the patient. Quantitative descriptive correlational analytic by using the total sampling that is all the nurses who work in the room critical care amounted to 41 people. The instrument used consisted of two questionnaires namely, questionnaire knowledge with 12 items of questions and compliance questionnaire with 12 items of statements assessed in Likert Scala. descriptive processing is done by using percentage calculation and interpreted based on knowledge scale and nurse compliance scale. Correlation is analyzed by using Spearman Rank Correlation. The result of interpretation of nurse knowledge is 82,20% that is having good knowledge and the average of nurse compliance is 4,66 that is the average of critical care nursing room has very high compliance. The result of analysis obtained correlation coefficient (r) spearman value of 0.122 with significance value 0,466, (p-value> 0,05). Based on the value of significance obtained concluded that there is no significant relationship between knowledge with nurse compliance in identifying patients before giving action in Critical Care Room of Bandung Adventist Hospital. The results of this study are used as a basis for development in research on patient identification as patient safety indicator by using different and more accurate methods such as qualitative method.
