ABSTRACT THE EFFECTIVENESS OF ICE MASSAGE THERAPY FOR PAIN SCALE IN MEN WITH LOW BACK PAIN IN PUSKESMAS PARONGPONG SUBDISTRICT PARONGPONG BANDUNG BARAT REGENCY NAMA ID: 1151061 This research is motivated by the statement that although epidemiological data of lower back pain (LBP) in Indonesia does not exist yet, but it is estimated that 40% of Central Java residents have suffered from LBP. This study was conducted to know the effectiveness of ice massage therapy against pain in men with low back pain using the pre-experimental group pretest-posttest method. The sample in this research is 9 people with LBP selected by purposive sampling method. The instrument used to are Numerical Rating Scale (NRS) to measure the pain levels, ice wrapped and coated by plastics and gauze and observation sheet. The results showed that there was a significant difference in the level of LBP before and after ice massage therapy with the difference of value 15 and p value <0.05. Suggestions that can be given to people suffering from LBP is to to utilize ice massage therapy to treat LBP; nurse profession, as input to add knowledge for giving counseling to patient or society about LBP; field of research, so that this research can be used as basic data to be developed in further research.
