ABSTRACT FACTORS AFFECTING SMOKING BEHAVIOR IN THE CITIZENS OF RW 01 PAGERWANGI VILLAGE OF LEMBANG Reonaldi Raturomon ID: 1551071 Smoking behavior has increased in Indonesia, not only in men but also in women. This research is motivated by the results of a preliminary study conducted by researchers in the village of RW 01 in Pagerwangi Village, Lembang, that not only men smoke, but women in the village are also often found smoking. The purpose of this study is to describe the factors that influence smoking behavior in residents in RW 01 Pagerwangi Village, Lembang. The design used is descriptive quantitative with cross sectional approach. The sample used was 84 respondents divided into 42 female respondents and 42 male respondents aged 26-45 years who were selected using purposive sampling. The instrument used was a questionnaire about smoking behavior and factors that influence smoking behavior. The results of the study found that the frequency of light smokers in women in RW 01 of Pagerwangi Lembang Village was 95.2%, and smokers were 4.8%. The results in the male group showed that 47.6% were heavy smokers, 42.9% were moderate smokers, and 9.5% were light smokers. The most dominant factor influencing women's smoking behavior is advertising media (0.84) while in men was the influence of parents (0.59). The less dominant factors affecting women's smoking behavior are internal factors (0.31) while those in men are advertising media (0.45). Suggestions given to Lembang Health Center and cadres in RW 01 of Pagerwangi Village to conduct health education about factors that influence smoking behavior. Suggestions to the research field so that the results obtained in this study were developed in subsequent studies. Key Words: Smoking Behaviour; Smoker
