ABSTRACT DIFFERENCE OF WARM COMPRESS AND DBE RELAXATION TECHNIQUES AS INTRAVENOUS INSERTION PAIN MANAGEMENT IN EMERGENCY ROOM OF BANDAR LAMPUNG ADVENTIST HOSPITAL Joice Yoafifi ID: 1451062 Intravenous therapy such as infusion inserting is one of the most medical procedure done in all health setting. One of the ccomplicaion of infusion isertion is pain during the insertion of the needle to the blood vesels. This research is motivated by the author's experience during practicing at the Bandar Lampung Adventist Hospital that DBE education in reducing pain for patients before infusion is often carried out, while the administration of warm compresses has not been implemented. The method used is a pre-experiment with Post-Test Only Design. The sample used was 30 women aged 20-45 years who experienced GEA health problems and will be given infusion therapy. Samples were divided into two groups, namely group A (treatment in the form of warm water compresses) and group B (treatment in the form of DBE relaxation techniques) selected using purposive sampling. The instrument used is the Numerical Rating Scale Sheet. The study found that the average pain level in group A was 6.93 (severe pain), while in group B it was 3.87 (moderate pain). The results showed that there was a significant difference between warm compresses and DBE relaxation techniques for pain management during infusion in the Emergency Room of Bandar Lampung Adventist Hospital (p value 0.00 <0.05).
