ABSTRACT THE CORRELATION OF KNOWLEDGE WITH COMMUNITY BEHAVIOUR ABOUT ORGANIC WASTE MANAGEMENT IN CIHIDENG VILLAGE DISTRICT PARONGPONG DISTRICT WEST BANDUNG Putri Melisa Duha NIM: 1451042 This research is based on the ineffectiveness of waste management within and outside of the country. The purpose of this research is to identify the knowledge and behaviour of the community towards management of organic waste. The study design used is descriptive quantitative analytic using correlational design, with simple random sampling. Respondents who met the criteria, that is 134 respondents should have married status, in the place when the researcher collects the data and have voluntary participated in this research. The instrument used to measure the knowledge is a questionnaire consisting of 8 questions with multiple choice types and to measure the behaviour of the community with 9 statements that have been validated. The data analyzed using percentage calculation and interpreted according to the knowledge grade – scale, behaviour – scale and for correlation coefficient is analyzed using Pearson product moment. The result of this research shows that community’s knowledge about organic waste management is more than enough or 66,14% and community’s behaviour towards organic waste manegement is in the less behaviour or 42,4%. The correlation test result of this research shows an negative correlation between knowledge and behaviour of the community with weak degree of correlation towards organic waste management.
