ABSTRACT “THE NURSING CARE FOR Mr. A WITH THE SCHIZOPHRENIA: AUDITORY HALLUCINATIONS IN PERKUTUT ROOM-WEST JAVA MENTAL HOSPITAL” Mawar Sovia Maretty Siagian NIM: 1352013 The background of this research is the increase of mental health increasingly becoming the major issue in developed country. The mental-health problem can lead to the inability of the person in working and cause impropriety in behaving; it raises the problem for the particular community including the people of Indonesia. In 2007, the number of Indonesian mental disorders was 0, 5 per mill; it has significantly increased becoming 1, 7 per mill of the 251 million total population of Indonesia in 2013. West Java hospital (Schizophrenia: auditory hallucinations) had the increase of mental-disorders number around 17% from 2010 to 2014, and the causes of mental disorders were the unpleasant past experience, daydreaming, and introverting. The purpose of this research determine nursing care for people with schizophrenia (auditory hallucinations) by doing the assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and nursing evaluation. The methods used were interviews , observation , literature study or electronic media and documentation. After doing the nursing care for four days, the schizophrenia can be controlled by hindering the hallucination, talking to others, doing scheduled-activity, and consuming medicine properly. However, the familysupport influence (to schizophrenia) has not been studied, because the while giving the nursing care the family was not there. As the conclusion, the cooperation between the medical team and the patient or the patient's family largely determines the success of nursing care. As the suggestion, patient is expected to follow the therapy program that has been planned by doctor and nurse to accelerate the healing process.
