ABSTRACT THE INFLUENCE OF HEALTH EDUCATION ABOUT THE COMPLICATION OF HYPERTENSION BEFORE AND AFTER EDUCATION TO THE PROLANIST PARTICIPANTS IN THE WORK AREA OF COMMUNITY HEALTH CLINIC PARONGPONG, WEST BANDUNG DISTRICT Arranged by: Stefanus Widiyanto 1451033 Hypertension is a disease characterized by increased blood pressure more than normal. Complications of hypertension are conditions in which people with hypertension have additional disease or more than two diseases that arise after an existing disease. Health education is an activity or effort undertaken to deliver health messages to the community, group, or individual. Based on the experience of researchers in the ward Hemodialysis many patients experience renal failure due to hypertension. This study aims to find out whether there are any before and after health counseling about hypertension complications in Prolanis participants in the Work Area of Community Helath Parongpong, West Bandung District. The method in this research is quantitative method with One Group Pre Test and Post-Test Design. Sampling is done by using purposive sampling technique. The instrument used is hypertension complication questionnaire. Data were analyzed by using Paired T-Test. The result was found the level of knowledge before given counseling as much as 16.13 or 62.03% with enough category, knowledge level was given extension 18,88 or 72.61% with good enough category. There is a significant difference of 0.009 with a value of p <0.05. Thus, the expected respondents can increase the level of knowledge about complications of hypertension.
