ABSTRACT MANAGEMENT AND CARE OF WATER SEALED DRAINAGE (WSD) IN MIS. E BY TENSION PNEUMOTORAKS IN THE ICU OF ADVENT BANDUNG HOSPITAL (RSAB) Sony Frendy Aritonang NIM: 1853011 This nursing care is motivated by the results found during practicing in the ICU room at Advent Bandung Hospital, where one enters after the client has a severe accident. This condition makes patients experience several problems, one of which is a pneumothorax. This general goal of nursing care provides an overview of the management and treatment of water sealed drainage (WSD) with pneumothorax. The method used is descriptive method, which is a description of the results of the observation by interviewing the patient's family, observation and literature. From the results of the study it was found that Ms. E suffered severe trauma so that the patient experienced a decrease in consciousness so breathing apparatus and WSD must be installed to treat pneumothorax. Then nursing care is done by diagnosing the ineffectiveness of the breathing pattern associated with lung expansion which is not optimal due to air / fluid accumulation, comforting disturbances: pain associated with tissue trauma and reflex secondary muscle spasm, risk of impaired skin integrity associated with limited physical mobility, risk of associated infection with the entry point of the organism secondary to trauma. Risk factors: tissue destruction and increased environmental exposure to pathogens, hygiene of hoses and bottles, anxiety associated with lack of knowledge of the actions to be taken, nutrition less than needed associated with installed ETT, guedle, ineffective airway clearance associated with increased secretion of secretions and decreased secondary cough due to pain and fatigue, accumulation of fluid or air in the chest cavity. the conclusions obtained are that there is no infection on the WSD channel, the patient's saturation is maintained according to the normal value, the airway cleaning is effective, the patient's family understands the disease experienced and every action taken.
