ABSTRACT STUDENT KNOWLEDGE ABOUT AUTOIMUN DISEASE: GUILLAIN BARRE SYNDROME BEFORE AND AFTER COUNSELING IN PUBLIC SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL 1 PARONGPONG FITRIANA MARBUN NIM: 1351099 Guillian Barre Syndrome (GBS) is a rare disease in which a person's immune system attacks the peripheral nervous system or myelin sheath. In Bandung the incidence of Guillain Barre Syndrome, male and female ratio 3: 1 with an average age of 23 years. The purpose of this research is to know the description of science knowledge of class X IPA about autoimmune disease: Guillain Barre Syndrome at SMAN 1 Parongpong West Bandung. The research method used in this research is quasi experimental method with pre-post test design. The population used in this study students SMAN 1 Parongpong amounted to 60 people who take the subject based on the existence of a particular purpose known as porpusive sampling. The instrument used is a question consisting of 20 questions. To find the value of knowledge before and after counseling used the average formula according to Ronny Kuntour, while determining the difference in the use of t test. The results showed that knowledge before counseling was very poor and knowledge after extension became sufficient. There is a significant difference between prior and after knowledge about autoimmune disease: Guillain Barre Syndrome at SMAN 1 Parongpong West Bandung.
