ABSTRACT RELATIONSHIP OF KNOWLEDGE, ATTITUDE AND PREVENTION OF TBC DISEASE PREVENTION IN RW.11 DESA KARYAWANGI By: Risca Octavira Syahailatua NIM: 1551064 Tuberculosis (TBC) is an infectious disease and is the biggest health problem in the world, after HIV so it must be dealt with seriously. The total TBC cases in RW.11 Karyawangi Village were recorded at the Parongpong Health Center in 2018, where 10 people were affected by TBC. This happens because efforts to prevent tuberculosis have not been carried out maximally by residents of RW.11 Karyawangi Village. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and attitudes of the community towards efforts to prevent TBC disease in RW.11 Karyawangi village. This research is a quantitative research with correlational descriptive design, the sample of this research is the residents of RW.11 Desa Karyawangi obtained by Purposive Sampling technique. Data analysis used was univariate and bivariate analysis. Bivariate analysis using the Spearman Correlation test. The results of univariate analysis showed 61.25% of the majority of respondents had good knowledge of TBC prevention efforts, 80.77% of respondents had a positive attitude towards efforts to prevent TBC disease and 60% of respondents had good TBC prevention efforts. Bivariate analysis using the Spearman correlation test with α = 0.05, the results of the analysis showed that there was a relationship between knowledge and efforts to prevent TBC (p value = 0.042), and there was a relationship between community attitudes and TBC prevention efforts (p value = 0.002). The conclusion of this study is that there is a low relationship between knowledge and prevention of tuberculosis, and there is a low correlation between attitudes and prevention of TBC. Suggestions from this study are expected that this research will be a reference for other research in conducting research on the relationship of knowledge and attitudes of the community towards prevention of tuberculosis.
