ABSTRACT FAMILY EXPERIENCES IN CARING FOR ELDERLY WITH ALZHEIMER IN RT 01 / RW 14 KECAMATAN PARONGPONG BANDUNG BARAT Christine Sacha NIM: 1451040 This research is motivated by the experience of the researcher in treating elderly people with Alzheimer's dementia. The results of interviews with the family stated that the family experienced many obstacles so they decided to use the services of nurses in treating Alzheimer’s. Caring for the elderly with Alzheimer's dementia is a condition that is dilemma with all the consequences that are obtained by the family. If the family unable to control the negative effects of caring for the elderly with Alzheimer's, then the family's functions and potential will decrease and in such conditions it is prone to appear saturation, frustration, burden, and stress experienced by the family. The aim of this study was to describe the family experiences in treating elderly people with Alzheimer's in the human holistic wellness category. The research method used in this study is qualitative by using in-depth interviews. Informants were the 3 main family members who treated elderly Alzheimer's dementia, which was obtained by a purposive sampling technique. Data analysis uses Creswell's qualitative interpretation approach. The results of this study illustrate the experiences of informants while caring for family members who have Alzheimer's. Data analysis based on content analysis illustrates the experiences of key informants categorized based on human holistic wellness: physiological, emotional, social, spiritual and intellectual dimensions. It can be concluded that the experience of families caring for elderly people with Alzheimer's dementia is very diverse. The results of the study are expected to understand that families with elderly Alzheimer's are an important group to be intervened in community groups. Keywords: Family experiences, Alzheime
