ABSTRACT KNOWLEDGE AND ATTITUDE OF YOUTH TO FACE CARE THROUGH HEALTH PROMOTION IN SMPN 3 PARONGPONG JESYCA PRILY JERSEY 1551014 Physical changes that often occur in adolescence are pimples on the face so that many teens often suppress these zits and cause inflammation on their faces due to lack of knowledge of facial care. Acne vulgaris or acne is a condition where the pores of the skin are clogged, causing bruntusan (red spots) and abscesses (pus bags), inflammation of the polysebaceous follicles is chronic which is characterized by blackheads, papules, cysts, pustules that are often experienced by adolescents aged 10- 18 years. This study aims to examine the description of adolescent knowledge and attitudes about facial care and to see the effect of health promotion on facial care on the knowledge and attitudes of students of Parongpong Junior High School 3 before and after being given health education. The research design was used quasi experimental design and research design using one group pre-test and post-test without control using YouTube media. The population in this study were class VIII students with an age range of 13-15 years who attended in Parongpong Junior High School 3 and sample selection using a random sampling method with total sample 100 people. Then the data is processed and analyzed using SPSS. The results obtained showed that adolescent knowledge increased and there was a change attitudes in adolescents about facial care after health promotion and there were significant differences in adolescent knowledge and attitudes about facial care between before and after health promotion at Parongpong Junior High School 3 with p-value = 0 , 00. The conclusion of this study is that counseling on facial care in adolescents significantly increases adolescent knowledge and attitudes towards facial care from acne. The author advises adolescents to increase knowledge about facial care so that with good knowledge will produce a good and right attitude about facial care.
