ABSTRACT Thesis Title : PERCEPTION ANALYSIS OF ELECTION CANDIDATES FOR MEMBERS OF THE CHURCH LEADER IN DISTRICT KUPANG SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTISTS NUSA SOUTHEAST REGION,ON EXODUS 18:21 Researcher Name : Adrison Ginting Degree : Master of Philosophy (M.Fil) Supervisor : Dr. B .D. Date of Completion : May 15, 2016 This writing begins with the background exposure problems regarding understanding members of the congregation in Kupang district of true leadership as recommended by the Word of God in Exodus 18:21, "Besides, you look out of all the people, people who are capable, God-fearing people -people who can be trusted, and who hates bribes teaching; put them among the people became leaders of thousands, leaders of hundreds, leaders of fifties, and leaders of ten people. " This research was conducted in the eight member congregation in Kupang District Nusa Tenggara with the number of 153 people. This study uses indicators of the views of members of the leadership were selected based Exodus 18:21, namely: 1. The leader capable and fear of God. 2. Leaders who are trustworthy and hate a bribe teaching. 3. Perception of the leader of the church members are selected based on Exodus 18:21. This study aims to: Knowing how high the level of understanding church members against the appropriate leadership according to Exodus 18:21, which is essential for the growth of the influence of spirituality in Kupang District. The purpose of this study are: First, to get the biblical concept of church leaders based on criteria Exodus 18:21 and verse and expert opinion support each other. Second, from the analysis of the views of members of the leadership criteria. An understanding that if the leader is already built into the foundation of a true and powerful, it will bring lasting leaders face the challenge of guiding the followers of his. Instead the leadership is wrong, it can adversely affect the confidence members of the leader that will certainly affect the spiritual church members. Metode used in this research is quantitative method. The approach is an explanatory-confirmatory, the type of survey and collection tool data that is used in the form of a questionnaire to measure variables parishioners understanding of leadership based on the output sekala 18:21 with 1-5 choice answers. Research results through testing that has been done shows that the great expectations of church members against the elected leader is a leader capable and fearing God praying with the same score is 3.94, meaning that on average respondents agree the main thing that must be owned by a leader is competent and fear God. Based on the results of this study are expected current and future leaders who will have to have a spiritual quality is good, so it became an example to strengthen God's people and steer the wheel of evangelism is moving forward.
