ABSTRACT THE EFFECT OF SOLVABILITY ON PROFITABILITY IN PT. ULTRA JAYA, TBK By: Baginda Saputra Simanjuntak NIM : 1332063 The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of solvency (debt to total assets) on profitability (return on assets). In this study, the method that I use is descriptive method, correlation coefficient analysis, determination coefficient, significance test and linear regression analysis. Data from this study are from the annual financial statements of PT. Ultrajaya Milk Industry & Trading Company, Tbk in 2012-2017. From the results of this study, we know that solvency (debt to total assets) in 2012 was 30.75%, in 2013 it was 28.09%, in 2014 it was 22.10%, in 2015 it was 20.97%, in 2016 it was 17.69% and in 2017 is 18.86%. Based on data from the period 2012-2017, although the solvency data (debt to total assets) has increased and decreased but solvency is still in good condition. From the results of this study, we can know that profitability (return on assets) in 2012 was 14.60%, in 2013 it was 11.56%, in 2014 it was 9.70%, in 2015 it was 14.78%, in 2016 it was 16.74% and in 2017 is 13.72%. Based on data in the period 2012-2017, although profitability has increased and decreased, profitability can be concluded to have good growth. Based on the results of this study using SPSS v. 16, shows that solvency (debt to total assets) has a negative effect on the return of assets at PT. Ultrajaya Milk Industry & Trading Company Tbk. In a significant test, the results of the study show that ρ value = 0.585> alpha 0.05%, thus showing a significant influence between solvency (debt to total asset) to profitability (ruturn on assets) at PT. Ultrajaya Milk Industry & Trading Company Tbk. Keywords : Solvability, Profitability
