ABSTRACT THE EFFECT OF LEVERAGE ON PROFITABILITY IN TELECOMMUNICATION SUB-SECTOR COMPANIES LISTED IN STOCK EXCHANGE INDONESIA 2012-2017 Written by: Lastiar Sihotang NIM: 1732187 This study aims to determine how the influence of Leverage on Profitability in Telecommunications Sub Sector Companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The method used in this research is descriptive method. The research variables are leverage and profitability. The data used is secondary data from financial statements. The method used in the research is descriptive method, correlation coefficient analysis, significance coefficient of determination coefficient, classic assumption test, normality test, autocorrelation test, heteroscedasticity test, and simple regression analysis. Based on the results of the statistical analysis conducted by the author, the descriptive analysis in this study shows the occurrence of increase and decrease compared to DER and ROA each year. Leverage correlation coefficient on profitability is a strong enough relationship between leverage to profitability. From the significant hypothesis testing 0.032 <0.05 means that Ho is rejected, Ha is accepted, meaning that there is a significant influence between leverage and profitability. Based on statistical analysis, it is known that the coefficient of determination shows that it means that the contribution of leverage factors to profitability is 16.5% while 83.5% is influenced by other factors not examined in this study.
