ABSTRACT THE EFFECT OF COST PROMOTION ON SALES RESULT AT ULTRA JAYA MILK & TRADING COMPANY Tbk. Arranged by Kristina Simbolon NIM: 1532027 The research was conducted to knowing how cost promotion and sales affect of sales at PT.Ultra Jaya Milk & Trading Company, Tbk. The method of this research was descriptive method. The technique for collecting data was interview to authorities that gave specific information was needed in this research. The analysis of this research was peasron product moment in analysis coefisient correlation, hypothesis testing, analysis regresition linear and analysis coefisient determinition. Based on result of research, it was found PT. Ultra Jaya Milk & Trading Company, Tbk. did promotions like advertising in TV, events, print media and sponsorship. The total of cost promotion of the product in 2008 was Rp. 145.917.725.096, in 2009 was Rp. 100.364.642.473, in 2010 was Rp. 179.618.430.010, in 2011 was Rp. 184.219.284.796, in 2012 was Rp. 167.561.020.676, in 2013 was Rp. 197.064.815.07, in 2014 was Rp. 209.633.821.073, in 2015 was Rp. 267.182.690.209, in 2016 was Rp. 288.384.439.637, in 2017 was Rp. 332.995.745.123. Based on analysis statistic was conducted, it was found the coefisient correlation (r) = 0.915, it means there was huge correlation between cost promotion with sales. Based on hypothesis testing, It was found ttable 0.632 and tobserved 6.422. So the findings showed that Ho was accepted, Ha was rejected. It means there was significant effect between cost promotion and sales. Based on analysis statistic, it was found linear equations Y = 62. 020 + 43.105X, it means sales wold be there although the promotion did not conduct. The next the coefisient determinations was 83.72 % where the resr of it 16.25, effect from other factors.
