ABSTRACT Thesis Title : ANALYSIS ON THE CONCEPT OF RECEIPT OF GIFT IN SERVICE UNDER THE MINISTER’S IN JAKARTA LOCAL CONFERENCE BASED ON CONTEXT DANIEL 5:17 Name of Researcher : Ronie Panambunan Mentor : DR. Bartolomeus D. Nainggolan, MPS. Completion Date : May, __, 2015 College : Universitas Advent Indonesia This thesis begins with the exposure of the background issues regarding the analysis of the concept of understanding Pastor receiving gifts, in ministry in Jakarta Local Conference by Daniel 5:17. In this study raised three issues: First, whether the gift of a person or group in the church for pastor can affect spiritual ministry and pastor influence in running the church administration? Second, what is the factors that make a pastor accept or reject the gift? Based on the analysis of the book of Daniel, especially Daniel 5:17, what is it owned by Daniel to be able to say, “Let thy gifts be to thyself, and give thy rewards to another! Yet I will read the writing unto the king, and make known to him the interpretation.” Third, is the practical solution when to accept and reject a gift? The research was conducted in Jakarta Local Conference, which has 169 pastors consisting of 130 ordained pastors 30 young pastor with the status index, 9 pre index young pastor, youth pastor and 17 pre-intern. The participants in this thesis consists of 85 pastors, 20 workers, 6 pre-index and 9 pre-intern with the division based on the anointing; anointed 82 and has not been ordained as a pastor full of numbered 38. The method used in the study is a quantitative survey that tests conducted using quantitative statistical test methods, among others, validity, reliability, normality test, liniearitas, hypothesis testing and descriptive test statistics. Data collection tool was a questionnaire transform variable measure of " acceptance of gifts in ministry pastor based Daniel 5:17" with a choice answers scale 1-5. The purpose of this study is as follows: For the biblical concept of the acceptance of gifts by Daniel 5:17 and the corresponding verse in expository. To give a correct analysis of the acceptance and rejection of gifts in ministry, especially in the organization of Seventh-day Adventist Church in the area of Jakarta Conference. The conclusions were drawn based on the analysis and discussion is: First, based on the analysis of the concept of acceptance gift from a person or group in the church to pastor can affect spiritual ministry and influence in managing the administration of the church, the results of tests conducted by the linearity between the independent variable (x) on the dependent variable (y) seen from the deviation from linearity. It is known that the value is 1 in the variable X1, X2 0948 on, 0.273 on the X3, and 0466 in the variable Y. The value of each variable is greater than the significance level of 0.05. This means that the analysis of the concept of acceptance gift from a person or group in the church to pastor can affect spiritual ministry and pastor influence in managing the administration of the church. Second, the factors that make a pastor accept and reject the gift is the totality of the individual for the service, discipline and integrity to serve as devotion to God and God's work, from the results of descriptive statistical data, that has the average total variable X1 for 4505, X2 by 3858. This means that the correspondent agree about factors that make a pastor accept and reject the gift is the totality of service, discipline and integrity to serve as devotion to God and God's work. The third is based on the F test results obtained F count of 15 611. When compared with F table with df 2:123 of 3.07 at the 5% significance level of F is greater than F table. This shows that there is a positive and significant influence between the service of the totality of the person and service is the discipline and integrity to serve as devotion to God and to serve as a task from God. The practical solution to accept and reject the gift is only by serving as a devotion to God and to serve as a task from God. Based on the findings of this study with carefully and positive to motivate the pastors to do the ministry with a totally service, discipline and integrity, and reminders to pastors that ministry is devotion to God and God’s work, so that all have a commitment to serve for the growth of the church and the completion of God's work.
