XYZ is an enterprise group of records from a large family of record labels, which the music companies is one of the largest music company in Indonesia. But with the increasing number of record companies in the country to make the higher level of competition, companies must undertake an effective campaign to boost the company's sales volume. To improve and maintain the effectiveness of promotional activities undertaken by the company's internal control is needed. The objective of this study was to determine the effectiveness of internal control and promotional activities at PT. Universal Music Indonesia, as well as to determine the effect on the effectiveness of internal controls promotional activities at PT. Universal Music Indonesia. This research was conducted by using descriptive method with survey techniques. The analytical approach used is a quantitative approach to the type of descriptive statistics. The number of samples examined in the study of 15 respondents. Analysis of the data used in this study include the validity and reliability of the instrument, Spearman Rank correlation coefficient analysis, and coefficient of determination. Based on the survey results revealed that the internal control at PT. Universal Music Indonesia are already on both criteria with an average of 3.98. The effectiveness of promotional activities at PT. Universal Music Indonesia also already on both criteria with an average of 4.18. Based on Spearman Rank correlation coefficient analysis obtained correlation coefficient of 0.751 which indicates that there is a positive relationship and are at a strong relationship between internal controls and the effectiveness of promotional activities. From the analysis of the coefficient of determination is known that increasing the effectiveness of promotional activities at PT. Universal Music Indonesia affected by variables of internal control by 56.40% and the remaining 43.60% influenced by other factors were not examined.
