ABSTRACT Thesis Title : PHYLOSOPHICAL ANALYSIS OF ANUALLY FOLLOW THE BIBLE EFFECT ON SPIRITUAL GROWTH OF THE SEVENTH DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH CONGRAGATION OF PADANG AND PADANG SIDEMPUAN BASED THE PASLM 1:2-3.” Researcher Name : Anggiat Torkis Manik Name and Title : Master Science of Philosophy (M.Fil) Supervisor : Dr. S. Hutagalung, M.Fil End Date :1st April 2019 Sin limits God's self-expression to His creation, so it disguises our ability to interpret God's testimony. So reading the Bible is very important, to enable humans to hear God's will again and must be a favorite in everyone's life, so that the boundaries will be overcome, God's plan for humans will be fulfilled. Through the Bible itself, with love, God gave a special statement about him to help us get answers to these questions. Through the Old Testament New Testament, He revealed himself to us in a special way. That is why King David emphasized the importance of the word must be a joy and contemplate so that he wrote at the beginning of all his psalms "but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night." (Psalm 1: 2), and the results continue "That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers."(Psalm 1: 3). From the constraints of the problem done by the author, the focus of the discussion of this thesis is on the Effect of the Annual Bible reading program on the Growth of Church Spiritual Activities based on Psalm 1: 2-3, specifically examining the practice of the annual Bible Seventh Day Adventist church members, GMAHK Padang and Padang Sidempuan. Based on the limitations of the above problems, the author sets out the formulation of the problem as follows: First, what are the factors that cause the congregation to have a low interest in reading the Bible so that they are not active in spiritual activities. Second is how high the level of understanding of the congregation that reading the Bible must be contemplated. The third is related to the presence of false prophets, the extent to which the congregation understands that annual Bible reading is an important need at the end of this age to avoid error. The purpose of this study was held by the author as follows: First is to find out what factors reduce the interest of the congregation to read the Second Bible to find out how high the level of understanding of the congregation that reading the Bible must be contemplated. The third is to find out the extent to which the congregation's understanding that annual Bible reading is an important need at the end of this age. This research is expected to increase the awareness of church members about the importance of the Annual Bible reading program in spiritual growth and the growth of the involvement of the church's spiritual activities. Theoretically, this research is expected to be an academic reference material and can be used as input for administrators or church employees, church members and the development of knowledge in the field of spiritual services in general in increasing the growth of spiritual activities in the congregation. This research is expected to be a reference for churches, church administrators or employees in understanding the influence of the Annual Bible reading program on the growth of spiritual activities in Psalm 1: 2-3. In addition, with the writing of this thesis, it is expected that every member of the Lord's congregation will realize the importance of the Annual Bible reading program in Spiritual growth and Spiritual activities. The next hope is that with the writing of this thesis it is hoped that it can be an input for church members to be able to help in more effective evangelism and can maximize the involvement of church members in spiritual activities in the church. The study was held at the Seventh-day Adventist Church of Padang and Padang Sidempuan Regional Central Sumatra with the aim that the congregation experience spiritual growth through an annual Bible reading program by knowing the factors that influence reading interest in the Bible, and knowing how to read the Bible properly and understand the end-time needs of reading Bible. The method used in this study is library data and field data made through descriptive methods through the mechanism of data collection through distributing questionnaires. The results showed that there was an influence of the annual Bible reading program on the spiritual growth of the Padang congregation and the Padang Sidempuan Church with a percentage of 96.5%. Seeing the average score of each question in the high category shows that each respondent understands that the annual Bible reading program significantly influences the spiritual growth of the Padang and Padang Sidempuan congregations, The final section is conclusions from field research, implications and suggestions so that the results of this study bring the influence of the church's spiritual growth overcomes factors that reduce interest in reading the Bible by applyed times dicipline in a day, read the Bible in the right way by meditates it, understand reading The Bible is an important end-time need to wake up from temptation.
