ABSTRACT THE EFFECT OF OPERATING EXPENSE ON OPERATING INCOME IN PT. BANK PUNDI INDONESIA, Tbk. Dewy Erykha Manalu NIM: 1232062 In order to run the business activities of each bank should be able to reduce operating costs or to control operating costs that have been incurred on any business activities conducted to achieve maximum revenue or that have been targeted to achieve. Because operating costs were costs directly involved in banking activities. The purpose of this research was to know how the operating costs in 2010-2014, operating income in 2010-2014 to the bank and to determine the effect of operating expenses to operating income at PT. Bank Pundi Indonesia, Tbk. The research method in this paper was the descriptive method, where data collected under real circumstances, with data processing techniques using statistical analysis, the regression analysis, analysis of Pearson product moment correlation coefficient, t test hypothesis, and coefficient of determination. The data used was data Operating Expenses and Operating Income in 2010-2014 in the form of an annual report. Based on the analysis of correlation coefficients obtained r = 0935 this case shows that the correlation between the operating expenses to operating income has a very strong relationship. Then based on the hypothesis test obtained by value tcount = 4,579 and ttable = 3182 and based on hypothesis testing tcount > ttable Ho rejected and Ha accepted which means there is significant influence between operating costs (variable x) to operating income (variable y), Then the coefficient of determination and calculation Based on the above table it can be seen that 93.5% operating income was influenced by 6.5% while operating costs were influenced by other factors outside of this research. Then based on linear regression analysis known that is Y = 66614.854 + 2,150x. Keywords: operating expenses, operating income, bank, banking.
