ABSTRACT THE EFFECT OF NET PROFIT MARGIN AND RETURN ON EQUITY ON DIVIDEND POLICY ON MINING COMPANIES LISTED IN IDX FOR THE YEAR 2014 - 2016 Written by: Septia Yolanda NIM: 1432022 As for the purpose to do this was research is to investigate the effect of net profit margin on dividend policy and the effect of return on equity on dividend policy. The method used in this research was descriptive method, where data obtained from Indonesian Stock Exchange. The scale of measurement used was ratio scale using the Pearson product moment correlation, regression analysis, coefficient of determination analysis and significance test (t test) and F – test using α = 0.05. multiple regression analysis as well. Based on statistical calculation, which obtained (1) there is no significant effect between net profit margin and dividend policy with the significant value of 0.203 (2) there is no significant effect between return on equity and dividend policy with significant value at 0.218 (3) net profit margin and return on equity did not have significant effect on dividend policy with F value, 0.962 > 0.05, while r = 0.258 and r² = 6.7%.
