ABSTRACT AN ANALYSIS OF FINANCIAL DISTRESS USING SPRINGATE AND ALTMAN METHODS AT AUTOMOTIF AND COMPONENTS SUB SECTOR COMPANY Written by: Meilyn Angraeni Wahyuni Lumbanrja NIM: 1432236 The purpose of this study is to analyze company’s financial performance and its potential financial distress using the Springate and Altman method in Automotive and components sub sector listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange for Fiscal Year 2014-2016. The method used in this study to analyze these financial distress ratio are Altman and Springate, descriptive statistic analysis, one-way ANOVA, and comparative analysis to interpret the potential financial distress. The result shows that there is small difference in financial distress between the two methods. The Altman method showed that the sub sector and its components are within the grey area or troubled condition of 2.285, whereas Springate method showed that it’s under financial difficulties of 0.695.
