XMLABSTRACT Thesis Title : THE ANALYSIS OF PASTORAL SHEPHERDSHIP INFLUENCE THROUGH THE VISITING TREATMENT TOWARDS MEMBER'S SPIRITUAL GROWTH OF SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH 1ST CLUSTER OF WEST JAVA CONFERENCE , BASED ON JOHN 10:14. Researcher Name : Masko Sihotang Degree : Magister Filsafat (M.Fil) Material Advisor : Dr. Alvyn Hendriks, M.Min Technical Advisor : Dr. Stimson Hutagalung, M.Fil Date of Completion :November - 22nd – 2019 Pastoral ministry is the primary duty for every church pastor based on their choice to be a shepherd to keep God's people. A pastor is also called a shepherd because he is chosen by God. As a shepherd they must be sensitive in listened to the cry of his sheep and his sheep strongly know the voice of their shepherd. If the voice of a shepherd were not heard by his sheep then he is not a good shepherd but a shepherding or thief. A shepherd must always be in the front of his sheep to lead, and then he can be called as a leader. The shepherd of the congregation is referred to a leader in the church because he is a shepherd for the congregation. But something important to know that, not all of church assignments must be done by the pastor, but the shepherd must cooperate with the members of his congregation in achieving the maximum growth of the congregation. Research objectives of this thesis are: First, to contribute the shepherds of the congregation in the service of their fields and to know the importance of visiting treatment to members of the congregation at the Seventh-day Adventist Church (SDAC) 1st Cluster Conference of West Java. Second, to give understanding to each pastor in order to be a good example in service especially in the visiting treatment to each member of the congregation as written in John 10:14. Third, to know the extent of the influence of visiting treatment of every Shepherd congregation in (SDAC) 1st Cluster Conference of West Java can be affected to the church growth. The basic outlined theory based on John 10:14, it is about good shepherd ship. In this research, a good formulation is assessed and based on the perception of the members of SDAC Conference West Java, Bandung and surrounding. Visiting treatment is an essential service that is not separated from the mission service of the Church. Through the pastor's ministry by visiting treatment, it will make all members of the congregation feel the presence and inclusion of God and His observance to His beloved people. The best service by a shepherd would never succeed if every minister relied only on their own ideas and talents that they have, but they have to emulate the way of the Great Shepherd Jesus Christ. The shepherds have to emulate the Christ did because only Jesus as the owner of the Lambs and only Jesus knows how to feed the lamb rightly. As a good shepherd must gather his sheep into one flock to make easier for him to watch over his sheep; for if the sheep are scattered, it will make him difficult to watch over the sheep. Therefore, to make all the sheep are not scattered, a shepherd has to always gather the sheep into the one flock by his own positive influences. The main task of a pastor is to feed the Church members words that fit with the congregation needs through a sincere heart, which is based on the words of God, But it is found that often a church pastor delivers words that are not in accordance with the needs of the church. Another task is to visit, but a church pastor is still lacking in conducting visits and evangelism. As the sampling technique of this study was collected data by random sampling cluster, namely sampling by selecting members of the congregation from each church proportionally from the SDAC 1st Cluster of West Java Conference and its surroundings. The analysis of the shepherd main duty based on context of John 10: 14 is a personal image of the church pastor who has a spiritual quality that is developed and has been trained to be a character in service to God. The spirit service inherent in the pastor must be maintained as the evidence of his commitment to God and the characterized by indicators serving as evidence of devotion to God. Statistic collection data using the Likert scale questionnaire model within range assessment 1-5. The statistical analysis requirements test states that, the data come from normally distributed populations and homogeneous groups. Therefore analysis of variance requires tests of validity, reliability, normality, linearity, hypothesis and descriptive statistics. There are 5 conclusions in this study: First, the test results of variable X1 "Member understands of Pastoral Care in Visitation" found the answers from respondents with a score about 4.31 or 86.13%, meaning that they agree. The remaining 13.87% disagreed with members' understanding of Pastoral Care in Treatment Visits. Second, the test results of X2 variable "The application of the Shepherd to members in a visit to visit provides a good example to members according to the Gospel of John 10: 14" to find answers from respondents with a score of 4.44 or 88.83%, meaning agree. The remaining 11.18% disagreed with the results of the application of the Shepherd members in a visit to set a good example for members according to the Gospel of John 10: 14. Third, the results of variable X3 "Influence of Pastoral visit through visiting treatment to GMAHK on the growth of the congregation" found the answers from respondents with a score of 4.31 or 86.18%, that means agree. The remaining 13.82% disagreed with the influence of Pastoral visit through visiting treatment to the Seventh-day Adventist Church on the growth of the church.
