ABSTRACT THE EFFECT OF WORKING CAPITAL TO PROFITABILITY IN PT. PERKEBUNAN NUSANTARA VIII By: Roky Wilbert Marbun This study was entitled "The Effect of Working Capital To wards Profitability at PT. Perkebunan Nusantara VIII ". This study aimed to determine the Working Capital and Profitability and also determine the effect of the Working Capital and Profitability of PT. Perkebunan Nusantara VIII. This study used descriptive method and aimed to describe systematically facts and characteristics the subject and object of the research studied. Descriptive research enabled the researcher to answer the research question pertaining the relationship between variables based on the data collected, processed, analyzed and interpreted to come out with a conclusion. Based on the results of the correlation coefficient indicated that the working capital had a very low correlation to Profitability with r = 0.1867. Significance Test results shown that t-hitung = 0.3335 < t-table = 2.353, so that Ho was accepted and Ha was rejected. This means that the working capital had no significant effect on profitability. The coefficient of determination shown that the contribution of Working Capital to Profitability at 3:48% and the remaining 96.52% influenced by other factors outside of this research. This means that the working capital had no significant effect on profitability. Results of linear regression showed that working capital had a positive effect on the profitability of the linear regression equation Y = -1,214.16 + -0.091X.
