ABSTRACT EFFECT OF EXCHANGE RATE OF U.S. DOLLAR-RUPIAH TO THE LEVEL OF PROFITABILITY AND EXPORT VOLUME IN PT. EK PRIMA EKSPOR INDONESIA By: Ridwan Mangatur Simbolon This study aimed to determine how the effects of changes in exchange rate of U.S. Dollar-Rupiah to the level of profitability and export volume in PT. EK Prima Ekspor Indonesia. Research conducted by using descriptive method, which was a method by collecting, analyzing, and provided the data in relation to a problem that researched, so it produced information that needed for a conclusion. The data were analyzed by using statistics with pearson product moment correlation coefficient, significance test, and regression analysis. The data collected through interviews, documentation, and literature studies. Based on the calculation for the exchange rate to the profitability using of statistics with pearson product moment correlation coefficient had been obtained the result of the correlation (r = 0,397) shown that there were low and positive relationship between the exchange rate with profitability (ROA). Through hypothesis testing generated significant value of 0,256 meaning that Ho was accepted that there was no significant relationship between the exchange rate to the profitability. Based on the calculation for the exchange rate to the volume of export using of statistics with pearson product moment correlation coefficient had been obtained the result of the correlation (r = 0,640) shown that there were strong and positive relationship between the exchange rate with export volume. Through hypothesis testing generated significant value of 0,046 meaning that Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted that there were significant relationship between the exchange rate with export volume. The regression analysis resulted in constant a = 5.280.789,666. It means, if the exchange was ignored then the size of the volume of exports was 5.280.789 kilogram.
