ABSTRACT ANALYSIS OF THE STATEMENT ABOUT “WOMEN ARE NOT ALLOWED TO TEACH” AT CILILITAN SEVENTH DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH OF DKI JAKARTA IN ACCORDING TO 1TIMOTHY 2:12 Abednego Josua Pakpahan NIM: 1411003 This research was done at Cililitan Seventh day Adventist Church of DKI Jakarta It is known that the church has been standing for many years, but found that there are still some members who do not understand about women are not allowed in teaching and governing the men let be silence. This study divided into two parts, theory research and field research. The result of theoretical research from literature study better to understand women are teaching and governing the men let be silence. While the result of field research through questionnaires, conducted to obtain the extent of their understanding of the four indicators which are: (1) The meaning of Women are teaching and governing the men let be silence (2) Greek Culture (3) Jewish Culture (4) The meaning about the Women are teaching and governing the men let be silence in this period culture. Theological meaning about women to teach and govern the men let be silence in according to 1 Timothy 2:12, can be seen from the value of the average (mean) for the whole statement of number 1-20 that shows 3,304 with the result “hesitation”. The meaning let be silence in Greek culture can be seen from the average (mean) for the whole of the statement of number 4-7 that shows 3,92 with the result “agree”. The meaning women let be silence in Jewish culture; it can be seen from the value of the average (mean) of the statement numbers 8-10 that shows 4.08 with the result “agree”. The meaning women let be silence in this period culture can be seen from the average (mean) for the whole of the statement number 11-20, which shows 4.3 with the result “agree”. Finally, through the answer of 30 participants, showed that they understand about the forth indicators. But some of them still not understand about the forth indicators. From this result of this research, this study is expected to support and to strengthen the understanding of Cililitan Seventh-day Adventist Church of DKI Jakarta members. Generally, the result of this study is also expected to be useful for the entire Christian community in Indonesia. Keywords: Women teach and govern men should be silent.
