XMLABSTRACT Thesis Title : ANALYSIS OF THE SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH MEMBER ON THE PHILOSOPHY OF MEANING, RECEIVING, AND GIVING HOPE TO MEMBERS OF THE PARISH OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES (DYSFUNCTIONAL) BECAUSE THE WORKER OF GOD MUST BE DECLARED IN HIM ACCORDING TO JOHN 9: 1-3 IN REGION 14 OF THE CONFERENCE OF DKI JAKARTA & SURROUNDING. Researcher Name : Dedi DR Lay Name and Title : Magister Filsafat (M. Fil) Supervisor : Pdt. Dr. S. Hutagalung, M. Fil. End Date : 17 April 2018 The existence of people with disabilities is no stranger to people's lives. They can be found on the sidewalks, the homes that accommodate them, the special schools established for them, even in families and churches. People still judge, the disabled so far is troublesome, burdening the other, so he must be missed and left alone. The impact that followed with the unpleasant treatment for them was that people with disabilities eventually saw themselves as weak, powerless and troubled people around them. The treatment that weakens the existence of the disabled makes them unable to develop other capabilities that they have because the community itself does not give them a chance. People with disabilities end up feeling shy, inferior, inferior and closed from the social environment because feeling the stigma attached to it makes itself different from the social environment. The negative stigma attached has made people feel disabled or 'disfigured' by others, because by using this title they indirectly have been placed as objects or cases and not as human beings. The Bible can be found several stories of the disabled (disabled) showing us that in the age of Jesus' ministry on earth, disability is often associated with sin and faith. The author only highlights the Gospel based on John 9: 1-3. It is identified that members of the congregation are less meaningful of the existence of the Handicapped (disabled), because the works of God should be revealed in him according to John 9: 1-3. The members of the congregation do not accept the presence of the Handicapped (disabled), for the works of God should be revealed in him according to John 9: 1-3. Members of the congregation are less hopeful to the Handicapped (disabled), because the works of God should be revealed in him according to John 9: 1-3. There are still members who disagree with the ministry of the Disabled. There is still doubt among members of the congregation against the involvement of the Handicapped (disabled) in the work of the Lord. There are still many congregations who have an understanding that Disabled Persons are only those who need to be pitied not to be involved in ministry. That Disabled People still understand the defects that exist because of the sin they committed. The purpose of this study is firstly to determine if there is any influence of competence from the presence of disabled persons in which the congregation is less meaningful of disability in their lives because the works of God should be stated in him based on John 9: 1-3. Secondly, to find out if there is any influence of the competence of the existence of persons with disabilities in which the congregation is less accepting of disability in their lives because the works of God should be revealed in him according to John 9: 1-3. Thirdly, to find out if there is any influence of competence from the presence of disabled persons where the congregation is less hopeful to the disabled (disabled) that the works of God should be revealed in him according to John 9: 1-3. The basic value of humanity and equality as a unit of the human family has been universally recognized, as contained in Article 1 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Article 2 states that everyone is entitled to all rights and freedoms stated in the declaration without distinction of any kind. Christ's resurrection is a source of human hope for continuing to nurture life, to renew attitudes, not to be apathetic and desperate in the face of challenge. Also reminded to be humble, because no matter how high the human ability, all his efforts will lead to death. All efforts and struggles will be useless if we do not believe in God's power. The more awakening the greatness of God, the more humble and hopeful. The research was conducted at the Seventh-day Adventist Church of the Special Conference of the Special Area of Jakarta's Mother & its Area which is limited in Region 14. The research method used in this thesis is quantitative research. The approach is explanatory-confirmatory, namely the type of survey. Confirmatory research is a study conducted to examine explanatory results, in order to understand the tendency of the Seventh-day Adventist Church Member's Analysis of the Meaning, Accept and Hope Philosophy of the Disabled People's Congregation because the worker of God must be revealed in him according to John 9: 1-3 Area 14 Conference DKI Jakarta & Surrounding. The results obtained are then used to prove the research hypothesis by confirming it statistically. The variables in this study is X1 is the congregation interpreted the existence of People with Disabilities (disabled) because the work of God must be declared. X2 is the Church accepting the existence of the Disabled (disabled) because the work of God should be declared. X3 is the Church giving hope to the Handicapped (disabled) because the work of God must be declared. Y variable is the Analysis of the Seventh-day Adventist Church Member on the Meaning, Receive, and Hope Philosophy of the Disabled Member because the worker of God must be revealed in him according to John 9: 1-3 The Region 14 the Conference of DKI Jakarta & Surrounding, (endogenous variables). The population in this study is a congregation of the Seventh-day Adventist Churches of the Jakarta & surrounding Conferences, which is limited to Region 14 with a total population of 1,500 members. The number of churches in the region of 14 are 6 churches and one New Association, namely: Mt Haryono I Church, JISDAC Congregation (Jakarta International SDA Church), Agape Love Congregation, Bethesda Penca Church, JCC Congregation (Jakarta Central SDA Church), Mt. Carmel, JCM (Jakarta Celebration Ministry). The number of respondents who have filled out questionnaires from no. 1- 20 point about 150 people, with profiles of respondent’s gender, status, education, age, and office of the Church. Based on the hypothesis test, that there is a Philosophy of Meaning, Receiving, and Giving Hope to Members of the Parish of People with Disabilities (disabled) because the worker of God should be declared in him based on John 9: 1-3 in Region 14 Conference DKI Jakarta & Surrounding with percentage of 88.1%. The conclusion of this research is first, the congregation members mean that people with disabilities are only weak and helpless people and people with disabilities will complain more about the shortcomings such as the view of the congregation in interpreting the existence of the disabled (disabled) God's work must be revealed in him according to John 9: 1-3. Secondly, members of the congregation consider the persons with disabilities not merely to be involved, so that this affects the acceptance of persons with disabilities because the works of God should be revealed in him according to John 9: 1-3. Third, members of the congregation believe that physical defects and disabilities are equal before God so that physical flaw is not a reason not to serve; this is the hope for the existence of the Handicapped (disabled) because the works of God should be revealed in him according to John 9: 1 -3. The advice of this study is first, the members of the group should give hope to the disabled, because the works of God should be revealed in him according to John 9: 1-3. Second, the members of the group should support the involvement of persons with disabilities (disabled) in the work of God. Third, the members of the congregation must accept the existence of the Handicapped (disabled), for the works of God should be revealed in him according to John 9: 1- 3. The implication of this research is the impact felt by the disabled is shame, inferior, low self and closed from the social environment because feeling stigma attached to him makes himself different from his social environment. The negative stigma attached has made people feel disabled or 'disfigured' by others, because by using this title they indirectly have been placed as objects or cases and not as human beings. The influence of competence from the presence of persons with disabilities in which the congregation is less understanding of disability, less acceptance of disability, and less hope in their lives because the works of God should be revealed in him based on John 9: 1-3.
