ABSTRACT THE EFFECT OF WORKING CAPITAL ON PROFITABILITY IN SUB-SECTOR MINING COMPANIES NON COAL, OIL AND NATURAL GAS Written by: Chuk Norris Lubis NIM: 1632019 This study aims to test and provide empirical evidence regarding the effect of working capital on profitability in mining companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the 2017-2019 period. This research is motivated by the fact that working capital has a significant effect on profitability. The purpose of this study was to determine how much influence working capital has on profitability in mining companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the 2017-2019 period. The research method used is an empirical method with descriptive and verification approaches, because there are variables to be explained and analyzed how much influence these variables have. Data collection is carried out through company financial reports obtained from the Indonesia Stock Exchange. Analysis of statistical data using simple linear regression analysis, correlation analysis, analysis of the coefficient of determination and hypothesis testing. The results showed that working capital had a significant effect on profitability. The higher the working capital, the higher the profitability. The amount of influence of working capital on profitability is 0.265% and the remaining 99.735% is explained by other factors and not explained in this study. Keywords : working capital, profitability
