ABSTRACT THE EFFECT OF THE CUSTOMARY TRADITIONS OF BATAK TOBA MANGOKAL HOLI IN ITS PHILOSOPHY AND HABITS OF THE CONGREGATION ACCORDING TO COLLOSE 2:8 IN THE SEVENTH DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH OF THE SEVENTH DAY OF THE CENTRAL SUMATRA REGION IN THE LUBUK DALAM. Gunawan Simbolon 1711031 In this study, the author examines the influence of the Batak Toba Mangokal Holi tradition and its philosophy and habits of the congregation according to Colossians 2: 8. The author focuses this research on GMAHK Lubuk Dalam. This research focuses on tracing 60 congregation members with the intention of knowing the extent of their views on the influence of the Batak Toba Mangokal Holi traditions and their philosophies which destroy the faith and habits of the congregation. Do church members have a good or bad understanding of the word. The basic reason for this research was to understand the influence of the Batak Toba Mangokal holi tradition and its philosophy of destroying the faith and habits of the congregation according to Colossians 2: 8. This research is divided into two parts, namely theoretical research and field research. The results of the theoretical research are how the background of mangokal holi and its philosophy of destroying faith based on Colossians 2: 8, what is the function and role of the mangokal holi ceremony based on the Bible as well today, and how is the Lubuk Dalam congregation's understanding of mangokal holi and its philosophy that destroys faith. and congregational customs. Based on the results of this study, the authors conclude that the members of the Lubuk Dalam congregation understand and have a good understanding of how the background of mangokal holi and its philosophy of destroying faith based on Colossians 2: 8, how the functions and roles of the biblical mangokal holi ceremony are also at this time, and also how the Lubuk Dalam congregation's understanding of mangokal holi and its philosophy has damaged the congregation's faith and habits. In this study, the researcher will also provide suggestions that can help congregation members both individually and as a congregation regarding the topics being discussed in this study. And through the suggestions that the author has given, would every member of the GMAHK Lubuk Dalam congregation not only understand in theory but also can do good examples that are owned by church members in living faith.
