ABSTRACT NURSING CARE IN AN. H WITH ACUTE GASTROENTERITIS WITH REHYDRATION FOR FLUIDS’ NEEDS AT KLINIK PRATAMA ADVENT Yosi Julianti S. Kep. 1953066 Acute gastroenteritis or diarrhea is a disease that attacks the digestive system of children and is one of the leading causes of death in children under five years of age. This disease is said to be diarrhea if there is defecation with a liquid consistency more than 3 times a day. Diarrhea is caused by the invasion of viruses or bacteria into the digestive system of children as well as the effects of food intoxicity and the effects of certain drugs. This can lead to excess fluid and electrolyte loss. This final scientific work aims to provide a real picture of nursing care in pediatric patients with acute gastroenteritis. The method used is the case study method. The study found 4x liquid defecation, the patient looked weak, sunken crown, sunken eyes, dry lips, dirty tongue, cold roots, decreased appetite, blisters and redness in the perineal area, temperature 37.8oC, breathing 22x per minute, pulse 94x per minute, and body weight 9.9 kg. Nursing problems were found, lack of fluid volume, nutritional disorders: less than the body's needs and damage to the integrity of the skin. Nursing measures given: Administration of RL 20 mgtt, monitor fluid status and encourage parents to give drink to replace lost fluids, recommend giving breast milk, giving ointment cream to treat blisters in the perineal area. Suggestions that can be given are that nurses can do evidence based practice to meet the fluid needs of children. Key words: acute gastroenteritis, diarrhea, liquids
