The main complaint of an acute respiratory infection, such as fever accompanied by cough symptoms, dyspnea, sore throat, runny nose, and pneumonia (mild to severe). The nursing diagnose of Mrs. S showed that the ineffectiveness of airway clearance was related to the accumulation of fluid or slem in the respiratory tract. The goal of nursing is to make the patient's airway effective or to clear the patient's airway from fluid obstruction. The nursing intervention that performed was observing the patient's airway and suctioning with the closed suction system. Suctioning was carried out to maintain an effective airway, stimulate coughing. The nursing diagnosis that arised in the patient was ineffective airway clearance related to sputum accumulation. There is no difference between theory and field practice in the nursing care plan for Mrs. S. Keywords: COVID-19, Respiratory Failure, Close Suction System Action
